Cherrie Lowe

Cherrie Lowe is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, an Honorary Lecturer and Associate of Monash University for the Faculty of Nursing. Cherrie completed a Diploma in Teaching (Nursing) from Armidale College of Advanced Education in 1987 and a Graduate Diploma in Nursing Studies Administration from the University of New England in 1990. Cherrie is a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

Cherrie is the Co-owner and Chief Executive Officer of Trend Care Systems Pty Ltd and Trend Care Systems UK Ltd. She was a Senior Quality Surveyor for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards for 25 years and is an experienced executive health service manager having been Director of Nursing and Director of Clinical Services in numerous Australian hospitals for over two decades.

Cherrie is a member of the Australian Information Industry Association, Australasian Institute of Digital Health, New Zealand Health I.T. Cluster, Queensland Leaders, and the Australian College of Nursing. She has worked closely with health departments, District Health Boards and Trusts in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Ireland and England. In this capacity she has provided national and local-level leadership to improve nursing workforce planning and resource strategies, focusing on patient nursing care requirements as being central to; improved staffing management, nurse resource planning, care outcomes for patients, staff retention and organisational productivity and efficiency.

Cherrie is a co-author of “Measuring Capacity to Care Using Nursing Data” published in 2020 by Elsevier Incorporated.

Cherrie has received many awards including;

  • 2022 Telstra Health Brilliant Women in Digital Health Awards as one of 25 women honoured for outstanding achievements and contributions in digital health,

  • Royal College of Nursing – Distinguished Nursing Service Award,

  • Freehills Breakthrough Award from the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Singapore.

  • Queensland State Microsoft iAward for innovation in e-Health,

  • Australian National Microsoft iAward for innovation in e-Health,

  • Australian ICT Exporter of the Year, vii. the Asia Pacific ICT e-Heath Award and

  • Australian Computer Society for Service Delivery and Training.
